ACT was founded 37 years ago…

OUR ROOTS GO BACK TO 1988, SO THE COMPANY CELEBRATED 30 YEARS OF TRADING IN 2018!

The company has been under family ownership since 1991 when Peter & Margaret Austin took over the company until their retirement in 2007 when the company changed to its present ownership of Tim & Jo.

Since then ACT has been expanding exponentially year by year, constantly expanding in to new industries.

ACT are proud to having trading relations with many other companies throughout UK, as well as across Europe and the rest of the world.

ACT is one the leading companies for sourcing both Standard & Bespoke threaded fasteners in all materials & and many finishes ranging from a single screw to a million washers.

While our core products are screws, nuts, washers, and bolts, we pride ourselves on being flexible. Our niche is that we don’t really have one—we’re happy to take on any job, big or small, straightforward or complex.

We also offer a wide range of additional services and products, including:
•              Plating and patching
•              Unusual materials and custom specials
•              Kitting and Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI)

A quick heads-up: we’re expanding our imperial spring washer range in light of J+L Springlock’s closure. If springs are part of your regular usage, feel free to send over a list—we’d be happy to include them in our growing stock.

One of our key strengths is sourcing hard-to-find items, especially imperial sizes and those tricky in-between metric sizes. Of course, we also carry a full range of standard, off-the-shelf parts too.

We stock metric, imperial, UNC, UNF, BA, Whitworth fixings in different grades and materials. We also compliment Machine Screws with the following: Nuts, Washers , High Tensile Products, Self Tappers, All Threads, Socket Products. 2018 saw ACT achieved BS EN ISO 9001:2015 accreditation and was the start of a new direction in trading ambitions. ACT incorporates over 75 years of industry knowledge and strives to use modern and innovative manufacturing processes in the following fasteners specifications;

DIN, ANSI/ASME, ISO, and BS.

In 2018 ACT was proud to become members of the BIAFD.
